the story
“The first time I stepped into that deep, quiet heat, something shifted.”
The Oregon Coast is already medicine — waves that hush the mind, fog that softens the edges, forests that breathe for you.
Stillhouse just adds heat.
Like so many of us, I’d spent years running on adrenaline — working, building, taking care of everyone else. It’s easy to lose track of yourself in the rush. Sauna found me when I was craving a way back — not to productivity, but to presence.
The first time I stepped into that deep, quiet heat, something shifted. The noise fell away. I could finally exhale.
Stillhouse was born from that feeling — and from a belief that we all need places that remind us what it feels like to slow down, breathe, and belong.
Our Nordic-inspired mobile sauna blends heat, cold, and community — ancient rituals reimagined for modern life. Between the steam and the plunge, something happens: your shoulders drop, your laughter returns, and your nervous system remembers what calm feels like.
We’re not a spa. We’re not a trend.
We’re a house of stillness — on wheels — built to travel where it’s needed most.
For the doers who forget to rest.
For the givers who deserve to receive.
For anyone who needs to feel human again.
— Staci, Founder of Stillhouse Sauna
Bringing heat, cold, and community to the Oregon Coast.
Our philosophy
Heat + Cold + Breath = Renewal.
Sauna is one of the oldest healing traditions in the world. Across cultures, people have gathered in heat and ritual to sweat, release, and restore. At Stillhouse, we honor those traditions while shaping them for the present moment.
• Nordic roots: fire, steam, ritual, community
• Coastal spirit: mist, ocean air, grounding in nature
• Modern science: proven benefits for stress, circulation, mood, and recovery
This isn’t just about sweating. It’s about remembering what it feels like to be human.
science meets soul
Nerd alert (the fun kind):
Sauna sessions can boost dopamine by up to 250% (European Journal of Applied Physiology study).
Cold exposure activates brown fat and supports metabolic regulation (Biomedicines 2024, Endocrine Society summary).
Alternating heat and cold trains your cardiovascular system like intervals — while you sit and breathe (Journal of Physiological Anthropology 2024).
You’ll feel calmer, lighter, and more alive — and you’ll leave with fog in your hair and warmth in your chest.
the way we sauna
We believe sauna should feel good — body, mind, and spirit.
It’s ancient, simple, and best enjoyed with a bit of humor.
At Stillhouse, we take the ritual seriously — but not ourselves. Expect good conversation, quiet moments, and maybe a few laughs between rounds. You’ll find warmth, fog, firelight, and people who get it.
Come as you are — solo, with friends, or with the courage to make new ones.
Bring your towel, your curiosity, and your favorite story. The rest will take care of itself.
